Cottage-by-the-Sea #25 9/23/15

image

Abba Father:
Before the sun rose this morning, I did.
Getting as close to the water’s edge as I could get,
My chair goes, pushed, with such ease.
Watching as a hint of color tints the horizon,
Deep desire to be close enough to the sea I’m wet.
My soul opens up, seeking You as You please.
There’s no where I can be hid,
Even if that’s what I sought, but, it isn’t.

You have swiped Your hand, across the sky.
Your painters palate beautifully displayed,
My heart does what my feet cannot,
Gliding on a path of reflected hues,
I find myself a part of the wonder arrayed,
Praise You, Abba, Your daughter is not forgot,
Although I will always wonder why.
You love someone like me.

Oh, what joy in my heart unfolds and grows,
Becoming one with the beauty You created,
Who has pushed me here to acknowledge You, Creator?
I couldn’t before, nor do I now.
My heart never again can forget such love displayed.
Let Your love shine in, silence the haters.
For in this sunrise love is all it knows.
I praise You, Lord, for reminding me.

Oh, praise You, Lord, the I Am!
Praise You, Abba, the Healer.
Praise You, Almighty, forever and ever.
Praise You, My Shepherd, for Your guidance.
Praise You, Sweet Savior, Lord of all, forever.
Praise You, Master, help me forsake You never.
Praise You, O Holy One, the Gentle Lamb.
Praise You for Your love, mercy and grace.

On Holy Ground

Let praise ring out of my heart,
Whether I’m happy or sad,
May my thoughts sing true,
Father, may You know they’re for you.
Every breath I take, I take for You,
Not a second I live unplanned,
There’s no “just happens” in my life,
No accident You provide this particular slice.
O Lord, Creator and Sustainer of good,
He who spoke the world into being,
You knew even then I would one day be,
Needing the crucifixion and resurrection to set me free.
Right this instant You could call out my name,
Not a doubt in my mind I would hear it,
For You are the God of Abraham,
And David, Ruth, You’re the One, I Am.
Every cell of my body, every piece You used to create me,
It hums and sings out with adoration,
O Mighty God how precious I’ve found,
Living, breathing, awakening on Holy Ground.

He’s our Hope

image
Abba, You blessed me today,
Against all the odds,
All I’d been able to do,
Was weep and pray,
But You said in You,
Hope never died,
I chose to cling on,
To see what You’d do,
And when the word came,
My tears dried away,
You gave me a miracle,
I’ll never be the same.
Never again will I doubt,
That my needs are too big,
Or to suffer is all I can do,
Or pain is what I’m about.
Drive the stake so, so deep,
Mark this day Holy Ground,
For God touched my life,
Satan met with defeat,
O praise to Our Lord!
Sing songs and dance!
How great is our God!
May my gratitude be poured,
As a drink offering to Him!
Lift your hands up with me!
Shout your praise to His wind!
To the Light in a world so grim!

Cottage by the Sea #5 – 2015

image

Abba Father:
How beautiful this snow and ice look!
Blanketing the earth in diamonds and white.
A feast for the eyes to embrace this sight.
A balm for my heart when everything looks alright.
Innocent and pure it appears to be
What should I fear in this beauty?

The sun rises and the blanket reflects,
The yellows, oranges and reds of sunrise
It’s a lift for the soul a blessed surprise.
Something so dazzling it nearly burns the eyes.
The world seems alive with energy
All because of this immeasurable imagery.

If this part of the world could stop
No one have to work, there be no emergencies.
If adults and children could play as far as eye could see.
If when this art of nature melted gradually,
It didn’t reveal any ravaged tragedies or wounds
If we’d emerge a butterfly from a cocoon.

But tomorrow has troubles of its own,
So I’ll not borrow or think far ahead
But praise You for the wonder my eyes have read
Thank You for each blessing instead
Trust You to provide whatever the need
Have faith in Your every action and deed.

Enjoy the sight and the quiet peace!
Before life erupts again frantically
Barreling down to achieve dramatically
The good and evil deeds of man fast and furiously.
Yes, tomorrow has sorrows of its own
Today for those I will not moan and groan.

Instead look how the ocean spray froze!
Rows of sea foam froze on deck and pier,
Even the sea has frozen on top it appears,
Seashells and seaweed ice encased are dear.
Thank You Abba for this beautiful time out!
I will find ways to rejoice rather than pout!
Amen.

We Shall Know Him

image
We shall see Him
We shall see Him
Coming down through the sky
We shall see Him
We shall see Him
He will call us to His side.

We shall praise Him
We shall praise Him
Our Lord who His life He did sacrifice
We shall praise Him
We shall praise Him
Our Lord who on the cross did die.

We shall know Him
We shall know Him
In a way we’ve not before
We shall know Him
We shall know Him
When we walk through Heaven’s door.

We shall know Him
We shall know Him
When we seek Him with our hearts
We shall know Him
We shall know Him
When we know Him with our hearts.

Strolling in my Heart

image

Joy walked in my heart this morning
Hope joined the stroll as well
And Love enveloped both of them
Faith held all from the beginning.
Charity made her presence known
Compassion wove in and out
Understanding held out its hand
Pointing out here God’s love was found.
Perfection had departed at last
Weeds discontent and bitterness as well
Human expectations gave up their hold
Jesus’ blood had settled the past.
Songs rang in the air so sweet
Praise replaced a list of complaints
Worship sprang forth so naturally
For here Jesus and I could meet.

28 Years of Praying, 28 Years of Wait

image

Thirty years ago I began to understand
Grown-up love and relationships
Twenty-eight years ago I wept in pain
I began to pray and kept on praying.
Not for love reunited, rekindled, reborn
But for a creation of God to see
God would shelter him in the storm
He was a cherished soul to The King.
Years ticked by adding one upon one
Sometimes I knew where he was
The battles fought and who had won
But mostly I knew only a deep silence.
Still he crossed my mind quite often
And all I could do was continually pray
That God would win in the end.
Prayer through Year 1
Year 2
Year 3
Year 4
Year 5
Year 6
Year 7
Year 8
Year 9
Year 10
Year 11
Year 12
Year 13
Year 14
Year 15
Year 16
Year 17
Year 18
Year 19
Year 20
Year 21
Year 22
Year 23
Year 24
Year 25
Year 26
Year 27
Beyond year 28…
And the wall is starting to crumble
The demons are looking nervous
Excuses are beginning to tumble
Answers are filtering in and in and in.
So I will keep looking toward the hills
Keep praying day after day making years
Until the last stone crumbles to reveal
God’s might will see victory won.
One prayer
One day
One warrior
One year
Again
And again
And again
And again
Twenty-eight years more if needed
Until my very last breath because
Satan can and will be defeated
One prayer, one day, one year at a time.

The sun creeping over the horizon,
The roar of the waves pounding,
     The very air I breathe–

     My family I love,
The life You’ve given to us all–
          God!  I thank You!

     Sweet times of prayer,
     Private worship and praise,
Awareness of who You are, Jehovah God Almighty–
          God, I thank You!!
Thank You Abba Father for this–
     The seagulls that call,
     The chair that holds me,
     Your presence in this place–
          God of All, thank You!
Thank You for this–
     For meeting with me here,
     Reminding me of what’s important,
     Your precious showers of blessings–
          God Provider, I thank You!
The I Am I thank You–
     This time of reflection,
     These moments of clarity,
A country where still I can do this–
God, O God I thank You!!!
Walk with me today–
     Help me see the blessings,
     Let me hear Your voice,
May every atom of my being–
          God remember to thank You!
God I thank You and ask–
     Provision for today’s needs,
     You to be my Defender,
Your army to be my rear guard–
          God, O God Divine!
          I thank You!
          I praise You!
          Let me honor You!
Father God, I thank You!

Gratefully,

Abba Father,
Awesome, Holy, Fantastic God!
How amazing are the works of Your hands!
Evidence of Your design and creation
Can be seen throughout us and this land,
Thank You!
Loving, merciful, forgiving God!
From You alone all that is pure and good flows!
All the glorious in and of everything
It is only by the work of Your hand it grows,
Thank You!!
Giver of grace, true love and peace!
To You alone so much this daughter owes!
Repaying You is simply impossible yet to try I must,
Let me begin with intense gratitude from head to toe!
Thank You!!!
Provider, Comforter, the I Am!
How beautiful and amazing are You!
You’ve surrounded me with Your love,
Given to us all our place and mission to do,
Thank You!!!!
Jehovah, Abba, Savior!
As this day blooms with You before me!
Please flood me, bless me with Your presence,
Wash the world from my eyes so I can see,
Thank You!!!!!
My God, my Master, my Author!
To You be the power, glory and praise!
Allow me to steep in Your glorious presence,
Let it be to only You that all praise be raised,
Thank You!!!!!!
Amen!
               d.f.a.v. 10/17/13

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.”
Matthew 6:9b-13 N.I.V.

Thanking God,

God is Here, Here, Here!

Even in this time of trail
This place of darkness
When it seems impossible
That one more second of this
Will surely make you explode
God is here, here, here!

The sun will rise even if beyond the clouds,
The birds will chirp even if from covered perch,
The rain will fall even if on another’s farm,
The storms will come to us all,
But have no fear nor doubt–
God is here,  here,  here!

Praise Him now when you need healing,
Praise Him now while loved ones groan,
Praise Him now in your darkest hour,
Praise Him in your battering storm,
Praise Him though your voice is weak,
Praise Him despite it all for
God is here, here, here!

Lift up your eyes O’ Wounded Child
Lift up your brokenness O’ Heartache
Lift up your face O’ Weary One
Lift up, lift up, lift up & praise for
God is here, here, here!

As sure as the sun will rise if beyond the clouds,
Sure as the birds will chirp though from covered perch,
Sure as the ocean tides roll out and in,
Sure as life past grave goes on,
Lift your eyes towards the East
To that place beyond this world
Lift your voice in honest praise
For God is here, here, here!
