Thoughts Today

image

Seeing Heaven,
The glories of,
Walls of Jasper,
Streets of gold,
Hearing angel wings,
The praise of Saints,
The voice of God,
As we’ve been told.
Smells of Holy,
Innocent and right,
Feasts prepared,
Foods hot or cold.
Tasting blessings,
Joys unknown,
Air so sweet,
Eternity unfolds.
This is where I go,
To fall prostrate,
Before His throne,
In wonder but not bold.
Feel a total connection,
Your steady truth,
Encasing arms,
Nail-pierced hands.
I’m coming home,
Where I belong,
I’ll wait for you,
Where shore meets sand.

Seasons Come & Go

image

Spring and Summer have come and gone,
Fall arrives as harvest comes.
Winter winds will surely blow,
Time, it seems, just carries on.
Routines and ruts a fact of life,
Circles open then close up tight.
A man turns husband a woman his wife,
As a child is born so someone sleeps,
Tears of joy and wails of pain.
We learn this lesson repeatedly
With the sun comes the rain
And with God’s love His discipline.
How swift we are to see the sour.
Forgetting the cream of finer days
We cling to the driftwood of shipwrecked hours.
Our eyes upon some earthly way.
Grains of sand and ticking clocks
Mark a time in God’s own hand
Do you hear the tick-tock-tock
That counts til finished then it stops?
As seasons pass and hours flow
The question is that I must ask
Are you ready to Jesus to truly go?
For time approaches on swift feet.
It can’t be frozen or somehow stopped
Nor tricked or fooled to any extent
Our hearts beat on though well numbered
God Himself will stop our clock.
So listen well to what I say
Don’t let yourself get caught unprepared
God will listen for prayers you pray
As seasons come so will they go.

Home

image

I long for home.
I long for peace.
I long for rest from weariness.
O I long for home!
Not for comforts,
Not for rewards,
Not for streets of gold,
O I long for Home!
To feel again His touch,
To fall in worship at His feet,
To never again be apart,
O I long for Home!
Never again to sin,
Never again to be at war
Never again to be separated
O I long for Home!
Home where my Father is,
Home where my Savior lives,
Home with the Holy Spirit,
O I long for Home!
Home!
Home!
Home!
O I long for Home!
