In the Beginning

image

Nothingness became,
Pristine perfection,
Supreme expressions,
Of the Holy Trinity.
Man created from earth,
Woman fashioned from Man,
No toiling labor,
And God walked with them,
In the cool of the evening,
And they were satisfied.
Until Satan tested them,
And Eve tasted as did Adam.
They failed.
Sin entered the world,
Lost paradise some say,
God though was prepared,
He already had a way,
This time we had to but choose it.
To gain entrance into Home,
Where we already belong.

How Pure & Honest

image

How beautiful the mind of God,
Who designed the heavens and the earth,
The level of concept and thought,
Precision in a masterpiece of unimaginable worth.

How magnificent the hands of God,
Who with forethought and planning,
He made the sea creatures and humanity,
From nothing He created everything.

How pure and honest the heart of God,
When even as He knew man-kind would fall,
He stopped nothing but gave the best,
He poured it into us His very-best and all-in-all.

Spend Your Words Wisely

image

Words.
God spoke and the nothingness became heavens and earth.
God spoke and the earth became land and sea.
Vegetation grew, fruit developed, all spoken into being.
Spoken.
Words.
For six days God layered His creation into a wonderful, complex existence.
Culminating with the creation of man from whom He fashioned woman.
Spoken.
Words.
Pointing man to fellowship with Him.
Words.
Well planned.
Our words, poem, book, song, devotion, essay, speech prayed over,
Point people to God in us, not us as being god’s ourselves.
Prayed about.
Planned.
Spoken, written, powerful, words.
Do not,
Spend them unwisely.

Infinity in Him

image
Before there was the universe,
You looked over a vast,
Dark,
Empty,
Void—
And saw potential.

From the depths of Your mind,
Possibility pushed limits,
Chemistry,
Hope,
Difference—
Creativity unleashed abundantly.

So You waved Your hands,
Your thoughts became reality,
Planets spun,
Moons orbited,
Sun formed—
Earth came into existence.

Then You saw Earth and You knew,
Here You’d let Yourself shine,
Oceans,
Mountains,
Animals—
And man created in Your image.

Somewhere at that time when,
You blew breath into Adam,
You saw me,
You knew me,
You believed—
You never paused or hestitated.

All of humanity is infinity inside You,
Inseparable except by our choice,
We walk,
You remain,
Forever hopeful—
We’ll return to God our very beginning.

Every person and place and experience,
You’ve known before time began,
We know,
Right from wrong,
You are love—
We decide acceptance or rejection.

You took a vast darkness of nothing,
Created a universe still in part unexplored,
Amazing,
Intricate,
Delicate yet not—
Your finest work in man including me.

Please take me now so imperfect,
Scars, warts, life of sin,
Repurpose,
Remodel,
Refine—
Be sure I’m totally sold out for You.
