If prayers were winged creatures
That flew between our hearts and God’s
I can see those of urgency
Breathless, panting when they reach
The ears of God…
Or those prayed in confession
For sins of omission and commission
Flying with heads bowed down
Ashamed, embarrassed when they reach
The ears of God…
The prayers prayed in intercession
For someone’s hurt and pain
That fly with determination
Confident, willing when they reach
The ears of God…
Prayers for healing or provision
For needs of health or life
Come flying in to carry pleas
Humbled, wanting when they reach
The ears of God…
The air in Heaven would be
Crowded as far as You could see
Alive with the sound of wings
Beating, flying when they reach
The ears of God…
Yet You hear every prayer
No one goes without Your attention
No lines or triage situations
Loved, welcomed when they reach
Your ears Dear God…
