O Dear God, hear my prayer
My little girl is little no more
She’s growing up before my eyes
Cocoon fabric cracked and tore.
She’s sure she is ready
I’m just not that sure.
But her aging isn’t in my control
Though she lingers at the door.
Needing my approval for her heart
And my eyes see she’s no longer four.
Fly my darling exercise your wings
Day is coming you will soar.
To You, Sweet Savior, I continually pray
She’ll trust you to her deepest core.
O Dear Jesus, hear my prayer
My little girl is little no more.
